Special Rain Tracker Installation Notes for this vehicle:
Write the wire colors of the vehicle on the HSS drawing, and follow that
when you wire up the Rain Tracker. Use the factory drawing as a reference
to help you find the wires. Some models and years may vary slightly in wire colors.
Factory drawings can be wrong, so, confirm wire colors with a multimeter.
All wiper system wires, except ground, are available at the wiper switch. They
can usually be accessed by removing one or two access panels (Kick Panels) and,
possibly, the shrouds surrounding the steering column.
FIND CHASSIS GROUND
Find a suitable screw or bolt on the metal chassis of the vehicle to use as the
Rain Tracker ground. Scrape away paint as needed for a good connection.
Use a multi-meter to verify that the ground connection is at most a few ohms.
The cigarette lighter can also be a good alternate for ground and/or power.
2007 Sebring:
To install the Rain Tracker you must access the vehcile's wiper motor terminals.
This makes for a more difficult installation because the Rain Tracker wires
need to run through the firewall. If you find the diagram showing wires coming from
the wiper switch, e-mail us, at info@hydreon.com, with the diagram and we can
tell you if you can install the Rain Tracker at the switch. (The diagram we have
shows no switch so we can't tell if it can be installed there or not.)
SLOW wire connection:
Two wires come off the the switch, and come together to
a splice. (Joint connector) Make sure the Rain Tracker
installation comes is between that splice and the motor.
If the Rain Tracker is between the splice and the switch,
it will not work and you could damage the vehicle.
The RT-40A does not utilize the FAST windings of the wiper motor. Please disregard any references
to FAST that appear in these instructions.
The Rain Tracker wiper control system works in parallel with the existing wiper system, so the existing manual control modes are not affected. This page generated by vehicle data file name: chrysler_vans_92-95+.veh
